The official event lasts for one hour. After that, folks can stay for an optional second hour to compare notes.
Warmup
We open with ten to fifteen minutes of warmup exercises in the form of a problem sheet with simple questions to wake your brain up before you get to the hard stuff.
The booklet
After the warmup, everyone gets a booklet of ten more challenging problems covering math, science, language, logic and reasoning. You're not expected to get through all of them; aim for three to six in the time available. Pick the ones that interest you and work through those at your pace.
The idea is to work quietly, but you can ask questions if you're stuck. You'll be working with pen and paper and we'll ask you to put your phone away while you work. We'll have some old-school calculators floating around to help you with the math.
The solutions
At the end of the hour, you'll get the solutions. Each one comes with full working, so you can compare and discuss. The booklet and solutions are both yours to keep.
After the workout
The workout ends when the solutions come out, but anyone who wants to stay is welcome for another hour. Folks can compare notes, work through questions they didn't finish, argue about answers, or do peer grading.
